Research at the Diabetes CCRE
The Diabetes CCRE has several broad-ranging research programs involving several Chief Investigators in different projects. These projects include:
- Longitudinal clinical epidemiology studies of diabetic vascular disease in large cohorts
- Cross-sectional patient-focused clinical research studies of diabetic vascular disease
- Clinical observation and intervention studies in Indigenous populations with diabetes
- Clinical observation and intervention studies in patients with Type 1 diabetes using novel diabetes care technologies
- Clinical studies of patients with type 1 diabetes undergoing beta cell transplantation
- Studies of translation of research findings into clinical practice for diabetes management
Further information can be found at the Established Research Projects page.
One of the Diabetes CCRE's major goals is to foster new research programs, and this is achieved through the the Diabetes CCRE Fellowship scheme and projects and well as through funding granted to special projects which are led by CIs or AIs and involve several CCRE researchers. Further information about the Diabetes CCRE's activities towards new research can be found at the Supported Research Projects page.
Researchers at the Diabetes CCRE are well-recognised in their respective areas of research, and publish prolifically in high-level medical and scientific academic journals, thus providing significant contributions to the growing knowledge and research that exists in diabetes. In addition, they present at numerous national and international conferences and other meetings. Further information about the publications and presentations that have emerged from the Diabetes CCRE can be found at the Publications and Presentations pages, respectively.
